Fabulous Flowers by Fabulous Events

As I run through my previous blogs, I noticed that something or someone is missing. Bridal gown miraculously done, checked! CDI designs, checked! Meeting with Slystudios and Jaypee Noche, checked! Gotcha! Wedding wouldn’t be that fabulous without flowers and arrangement by Michael Yu and Ven Dumadag of Fabulous Events.

At first I was very hesitant to meet them because, since they can do magic in turning flowers into an art, I had an impression that it would be very expensive. And so I thought of meeting other suppliers but none of them satisfy my taste… (d’ bridezilla in me… teehee) It was time to meet Fabulous Events.

After some basic info about the wedding and told them what I like and showed them some of my pegs, Presto! They knew what to do. Then to test the waters with regards to the budget, no sweat! They are more willing to accommodate. So the meeting was a blast! Even hubby was impressed. Not to mention the ice cream and coffee treat from fabulous duo. Thank you guys!

Supplier’s meet at Cebu

Now it was time to meet our suppliers, here in Cebu. Remember, communications were done mostly through emails while we were in Abu Dhabi. So ladies first, Beckett’s Bridal for my 1^st gown fit. It wasn’t a love at first fit. (Follow this entry for more). CDI design for the invites was next. And for the last stop were SLY (slystudios) and JP (jaypeephotography).

They are both fb friends so I have an idea who they are. What I admire about them is that they are both professional and patient. Meaning, they were early and we were late. (traffic…) We met Sly at Midtown Hotel and discussed what we prefer for the SDE, and also told him that it’s up to him to bring out the best. (It only means we trust him) teehee…

A few blocks from Midtown, we met JP at his office. It’s a good thing he didn’t charge us overtime to keep him waiting. (hehehe) By the way, he will be flying to Dubai for a gig this coming March 2011, so we’re planning to have a post nuptial then.  Sorry, no pictures with him because we were in a rush.

Romelliz @ CDI

How did I end up with CDI? From the planning stage of the invites, It was always been Darlene of creativemania. I believe in her talent and really admire her invites in their own wedding. For several months we exchange emails and ideas for the design of missallete and monogram. But when the time came to meet her and finalize everything she declined because she had her baby, which I definitely understood.

From Darlene, I learned of CDI. So we jumped aboard and went to Cebu and met Ms. Eleanor of CDI. Luckily she’s very accommodating and open to my ideas, and she even suggested some color combinations.

It’s good to be back.

As I woke up this morning it felt really nice, because it was the first hassle free day since we got back from the Philippines. I slept well which means back to normal life after the storm we encountered few days back.

A very amusing email welcomed me at my office pc that read, “Can you please confirm if ur still using the same number cause I was calling u lately and no one answered… we really appreciate if you could help us on planning our big day”.

It’s like a dream come true, to help brides-to-be or soon to be wed couples to plan their wedding. I’m more than willing to help.

The Perfect Gown

Every girl has its own dream wedding and every bride has its own dream gown. It may be a Cinderella or just a simple yet elegant design.

I can’t deny the fact that I’m very particular with my gown up to the last detail. Who isn’t? It’s one of the most memorable day and biggest event of my life so of course, I want to be the most beautiful woman in the eyes of my groom as I walk down the aisle.

After months of search from the net and magazines and countless consultations from my family and friends for the right design for me, my gown story began, and somehow did manage to find the perfect one for me. (see my previous blog here.)

Fitting time… I was shocked on what I was looking at. I said to my groom, now my husband, “I look like a ninang on this dress”. This is not what I dreamed of!!! Sadly, he saw the worried look in my eyes and also neither likes the fit coz he never bothered to take a photo of it. hehehe… Then the designer came and saw the worried bride-to-be, she knew instantly it was not a perfect match. In fairness,  she let me try her other designs… until I met… this…

 

To all brides-to-be out there, if you are not comfortable or happy with your gown, tell your designer. They will understand for sure and try to do something about it, just like Beckett’s.

Back to Civilization

I’ve been out from civilization for almost 3 weeks now…. but I’m back and soooo excited to tell you what happened within that period.

I’m in the Philippines and very busy (to the nth power) for wedding preps and vacation.

Caricature

My previous post on giveaways was about our choices but the top pick was the coffee mug. Since we weren’t able to find a decent apple shape mug, luckily a better design came up. Hubby and I were so excited when we saw the lay-out… can’t wait to see it in action in our wedding day.

SDE (same-day-edit)

SDE – definitely it’s not related or close to STD. It’s the same-day-edit. From the prep to the wedding proper, the videographer sums it all in a 4 minute video. Amazing huh! Usually with SDE, the package will be very expensive but I got a good deal from Slystudios, It’s a freebie! Yipeee!!!

What’s ur Flava?

Table number checked!

Only 3 weeks to go before we fly to Phils and I really want to finish the table names, thank you tags and missalettes. Thank God! I’m done with my first DIY project which is the table names. I thought it wasn’t a good idea at first because I don’t know anything about art and design, but luckily my officemate, Argel taught me how to use photoshop. Frankly I never thought I could do it because I’m more on conceptualizing and planning. Here’s a sample…

Since it’s a coffee themed, the concept is that tables will be named after coffee flavors. Before, I was thinking naming it after our favorite coffee shops but since we only have few it was changed to flavors. What’s your flava?
