Archive for January, 2011

When we were at Bohol Tropics to reserve Seglim for our reception, another soon to be wed, a foreigner and a kabayan were also there making their reservations.  What got our attention was, the happy guy showing his copy of Bohol Chronicles, a local newspaper featured their wedding. Imagine today’s paper headline is your wedding??? I’m just exaggerating because we really found it funny at first.

So as I was googling Bohol weddings, I found this website www.boholchronicle.com and you guess it right, our wedding was featured in the lifestyles section January 2, 2011 issue by Ms. Gloria Araneta. (Funny uh)By the way, Ms. Araneta was our reception commentator. Part of her package is a write up in the local news. Click to follow the link.

She deserves it… clap…clap…clap

As I run through my previous blogs, I noticed that something or someone is missing. Bridal gown miraculously done, checked! CDI designs, checked! Meeting with Slystudios and Jaypee Noche, checked! Gotcha! Wedding wouldn’t be that fabulous without flowers and arrangement by Michael Yu and Ven Dumadag of Fabulous Events.

At first I was very hesitant to meet them because, since they can do magic in turning flowers into an art, I had an impression that it would be very expensive. And so I thought of meeting other suppliers but none of them satisfy my taste… (d’ bridezilla in me… teehee) It was time to meet Fabulous Events.

After some basic info about the wedding and told them what I like and showed them some of my pegs, Presto! They knew what to do. Then to test the waters with regards to the budget, no sweat! They are more willing to accommodate. So the meeting was a blast! Even hubby was impressed. Not to mention the ice cream and coffee treat from fabulous duo. Thank you guys!

Here’s the pics…

Supplier: Fabulous Events

Ratings: 10 out of 10

Dahilayan Escape

I will go for it! No doubts. No second thoughts. I just want to experience what it feels like to fly like superman.  Yes, it’s an extreme dream came true at Dahilayan Zipline – The longest zipline in Asia at 840 meters long.

It was hubby’s birthday treat so we headed out with his family… Here’s our pics….

They also have a forest park where you can find models of different kinds of animals, as big as the real one.

I really love the flying experience. It seems like when you’re up there all your stress are left behind.

What to expect:

  1. When you plan to go on weekend, you have to be there as early as 8 am because the line gets longer as the clock ticks.
  2. Since the portion of the road is still rough, expect 1:30 hrs drive from the city.
  3. They offer 3 rides for adults at Php600.00 only, 2 rides for kids at Php500.00 only.
  4. They also have sorbit… this ride is really fun.
  5. And lastly for kids, horse back riding for P120.00/hr.

Now it was time to meet our suppliers, here in Cebu. Remember, communications were done mostly through emails while we were in Abu Dhabi. So ladies first, Beckett’s Bridal for my 1st gown fit. It wasn’t a love at first fit. (Follow this entry for more). CDI design for the invites was next. And for the last stop were SLY (slystudios) and JP (jaypeephotography).

They are both fb friends so I have an idea who they are. What I admire about them is that they are both professional and patient. Meaning, they were early and we were late. (traffic…) We met Sly at Midtown Hotel and discussed what we prefer for the SDE, and also told him that it’s up to him to bring out the best. (It only means we trust him) teehee…

Sly @ midtown

A few blocks from Midtown, we met JP at his office. It’s a good thing he didn’t charge us overtime to keep him waiting. (hehehe) By the way, he will be flying to Dubai for a gig this coming March 2011, so we’re planning to have a post nuptial then.  Sorry, no pictures with him because we were in a rush.

How did I end up with CDI? From the planning stage of the invites, It was always been Darlene of creativemania. I believe in her talent and really admire her invites in their own wedding. For several months we exchange emails and ideas for the design of missallete and monogram. But when the time came to meet her and finalize everything she declined because she had her baby, which I definitely understood.

From Darlene, I learned of CDI. So we jumped aboard and went to Cebu and met Ms. Eleanor of CDI. Luckily she’s very accommodating and open to my ideas, and she even suggested some color combinations.

I heart their invites gallery.

With Ms. Eleanor…

Divisorialandia

The main eventPacquiao vs Margarito. It’s like a holiday in the Philippines whenever Pacman has a fight, except against Jinkee. It’s also a zero crime day according to the media, because everyone will stop and watch the fight. But not for us, as early as 7 am hubby and I were on our way to DV.

We thought all along that it would only take just a few minutes to get to DV, but we were wrong. We got there around 9 am. I guess everyone was rushing to see the fight.

Tabora St. – the shopping haven for wedding supplies. We were searching for Morning Glory and Wellmanson as what I learned from projectdreamwedding. Wellmanson is closed on Sundays so we headed next to Morning Glory. Since their prices are very reasonable, we were able to shop for Christmas décors too.

Here’s what I’ve got for my DIY projects…

Ribbons, Glue gun, Glue sticks, crystals, abaca bag for giveaways, brooches.

And the worms for the early birds, shopping at 168. I got a great deal for a dress where I can’t also find in Abu Dhabi. Knock-out!!!

It’s good to be back.

As I woke up this morning it felt really nice, because it was the first hassle free day since we got back from the Philippines. I slept well which means back to normal life after the storm we encountered few days back.

A very amusing email welcomed me at my office pc that read, “Can you please confirm if ur still using the same number cause I was calling u lately and no one answered… we really appreciate if you could help us on planning our big day”.

It’s like a dream come true, to help brides-to-be or soon to be wed couples to plan their wedding. I’m more than willing to help.

Xoxo
